Career & Technical Education develops and maintains the partnerships that will contribute to the development of a world class workforce for Berrien County and the State of Michigan.

Through our partnerships, students experience a seamless entry into Michigan's variety of educational pathways beyond high school learning to academic and workplace success. Partnerships have been established to promote student achievement and provide experiences that could not otherwise be achieved.

Edward Lowe Foundation

One of CTE's most widely recognized local projects, Young Entrepreneurs Day, is funded in part by the Edward Lowe Foundation. The Foundation recognizes the potential of creative young people and promotes their efforts to master the skills and practices of entrepreneurial endeavors. Berrien County CTE provides coordination with the participating schools and Lake Michigan College.

Lewis Cass and Van Buren Intermediate School Districts

Through a tri-county partnership, together we offer Young Entrepreneurs/Portfolio Day for area students. In addition, the three counties partner in the Perkins Grant which allows all three counties to work together to increase awareness of Career & Technical Education, create college readiness opportunities; and promote the use of WorkKeys and Career Cruising throughout the tri-county region.

Lake Michigan College

Berrien County Career & Technical Education and Lake Michigan College have partnered on a substantial number of initiatives, including the Chili Cook-off, SW Michigan Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Competition and Young Entrepreneurs Day. Through the Early College Program at Lake Michigan College, the curriculum of all CTE programs have been aligned to the College's curriculum.

In Berrien and Van Buren Counties, a partnership has been formed between CTE and Kinexus. With their support and research allowing them to forecast local job openings, the CTE Leadership Team can utilize data in developing new and relevant CTE programs.

Lakeland Health Care/Lakeland Foundation

Lakeland Regional Health System has partnered with Berrien RESA/CTE and local districts, providing guest presenters for Career Days and assessors for Young Entrepreneurs Day, participation on advisory boards, and providing professional and financial support for the Professional Health Careers Academy. Through the Professional Health Career Academy (PHCA), Lakeland provides preceptors and clinical rotation sites for the enrolled students in both north and south county programs.

Southwestern Michigan College

Southwestern Michigan College provides on-campus tours and opportunities for our high school CTE students. Through their Early College Program, the curriculum of many CTE programs has been aligned to the College's curriculum.
