FAQ Interview Process
How many people will be interviewing my family?
Families will be interviewed by two-three local school district and/or college administrators. Students will not be interviewed by staff from their home school district.
What should my family wear to the interview?
Students (and family members) will not be critiqued for their attire, however, it is expected that families treat the interview in the same fashion that they would treat a job interview. Business casual to business professional is appropriate.
Will my child be disqualified from the application process if the parent/guardian cannot participate in the interview?
Depending on the circumstance, every effort will be made to schedule an interview on the selected interview dates. If needed, accommodations may be made for illness/injury or work schedules.
How early should my family arrive prior to the interview?
It is suggested that families arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled interview time.
Should my child/family bring any materials with him/her/us to the interview?
Families are welcome to bring paper and a writing instrument should they wish to take notes, however, there is no need to bring any other materials.
What if there is inclement weather on the day of the interviews?
Weather issues may arise. Should interviews be canceled, the Leadership Team will make every effort to contact you. Additionally, closings will be posted on the Berrien RESA website.
What if my family is running late for the interview?
Please make every effort to arrive on time for your interview. The Leadership Team conducting the interviews will also work diligently to stay on schedule in an effort to respect your time.
