Graphic designers plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to communication problems. They use a variety of print, electronic, and film media and technologies to execute a design that meets clients' communication needs.
Creativity is crucial in all design occupations; most designers need a bachelor's degree, and candidates with a master's degree hold an advantage.
Intense competition is expected for most jobs, despite average projected employment growth, because many talented individuals are attracted to careers as designers. Median annual earnings for graphic designers were $45,900 in 2014.
